Natural oases

Just a short distance from Rome and from Leonardo da Vinci Airport are the two natural oases Macchiagrande and Palo Laziale.

Macchiagrande's history is closely tied to radical works of Maccarese territory reclamation, in progress since 1878. It is in the heart of the state's nature reserves along the Roman coastline, protecting and conserving typical nature and wildlife.

The forest oasis of Palo Laziale is one of the last residuals of grand coastal forest flourishing along the Tyrrhenian coast. The badger is the symbol of the oasis.
