The Rome airport is today celebrating ten years of activity of Jet2.com, the low-cost Leeds-based British airline founded in 2002, which is celebrating this important milestone with a record of over one million, two hundred thousand passengers transported by direct flights to and from four cities in the United Kingdom (Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle).
The carrier currently has a fleet of 63 aircraft, including B757-200, B737-800 and B737/300 and, from September until 2018, another 30 will be added.
“Jet2.com” emphasised Federico Scriboni, ADR’s Route Manager for Europe, “is increasingly establishing itself as a major carrier, in serving a strategic market such as the United Kingdom. We are very satisfied in reaching this important milestone, a good omen for future developments of those markets which currently have a high potential for the future”.
“As regards weekly frequencies, the products” explained Scriboni “are designed for both clienteles - both the Anglo-Saxons and Italians – achieving a connection between Fiumicino and Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle, with many direct flights on Thursdays and Sundays”.
Benjamin Spencer, Overseas Airport Manager for Jet2.com, said he is “proud of the milestone reached by the airline in ten years of connections between the north of the United Kingdom and Fiumicino airport and”, he added “passenger satisfaction, which is increasingly on the rise for these destinations, encourages us to do increasingly more”.
