Fiumicino, 20 February 2018 – A special welcome at Leonardo da Vinci airport for the Italian National Rugby team who take on France in Marseille on Friday. The match kicks off the third day of the Six Nations. Aeroporti di Roma airport operators welcomed and greeted the athletes, and organised a surprise greeting with the Tricolore flag and a rendition of “Fratelli d’Italia”, the country’s national anthem.
Passengers in the airport joined the unexpected flash mob, singing alongside airport staff and photographing the departing rugby players. To accommodate fans planning to follow the team to Marseille, official ADR airport parking brand Easy Parking is offering a special 30% discount until 24 February, valid for stays exceeding the 2 days need to go to and return from the match.
The management company has placed a number of cultural initiatives in play to entertain passengers during their time in the airport: concerts, ballets, and book presentations truly make it an airport of culture.
Aeroporti di Roma, Company of the Atlantia Group, manages and develops the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino and undertakes other activities relating to and supplementing airport management. Fiumicino operates through three passenger terminals. It is dedicated to business and leisure clients on national, international and intercontinental routes; Ciampino is mainly used by low-cost airlines, by express couriers and for General Aviation operations. In 2017, the ADR airport system registered 46.9 million passengers, with over 230 destinations across the world accessible from Rome thanks to around 100 airlines operating in the two airports.
