Aeroporti di Roma communicates that, from this morning, the world leader in disaster recovery Belfor is operating in the areas affected by yesterday fire. Belfor, whose technicians will work round-the-clock, has begun the reclaiming and recovering operations for all the area stricken by the fire and by the consequent smoke, starting from air conditioning systems. Subsequently, the damaged structures will be removed. This intervention will make it possible to re-open the Terminal 3 Boarding Area D to passengers within one week. 250 flights have been operated since this morning.
Aeroporti di Roma, a company of Gruppo Atlantia, manages the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino, and conducts other collateral activities for airport facility management.
