ADR: pier D will reopen tomorrow at 23.59 after green light from competent authorities.
Leonardo da Vinci airport is back to normal operations

Fiumicino, 17 July 2015 – Aeroporti di Roma communicates that, as from 23.59 of tomorrow 18 July 2015, Pier D will be newly available after the competent authorities gave their consent.  Thanks to this decision, Leonardo Da Vinci airport can go back to normal operations, in compliance with Enac deliberations. Throughout this period, thanks to the cooperation of airline and airport operators, the airport has been capable to ensure the connections inside and outside the country, with peaks of 130/150 thousand passengers per day, with a probable increase in the next weeks due to the summer holidays peak.  Concerning the quality of air, the company wishes to point out that it always applied the precaution principle in order to protect employees, keeping as a reference the parameters applied in Germany (MAK), the only EU country that has a specific standard on this aspect.

 

Aeroporti di Roma, a company of Gruppo Atlantia, manages the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino, and conducts other collateral activities for airport facility management. Fiumicino operates four passenger terminals. It is dedicated to business and leisure flights to and from national, international and intercontinental destinations; Ciampino is mainly dedicated to low-cost airlines, express couriers and General Aviation activities. In 2014, ADR  airports system recorded around 44 million passengers, with over 230 destinations that can be reached from Rome thanks to the 100 airline operating from the two airports.
