Ebola virus disease (EVD). Travel advice for travellers going to or returning from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

EVD Infection is highly transmissible:

• By contact with blood or body fluids of an infected person or an infected animal, dead or alive

• By contact with surfaces and materials contaminated by infected body fluids

Airborne transmission has not been documented.

AT YOUR ARRIVAL IN INFECTED PROVINCES  (www.who.int/ebola/en/):

• Always apply the recommendations issued by the Local Authorities

• Practice careful hygiene

• Avoid all contacts with blood and body fluids of infected people or animas

• Do not handle items that may have come into contact with blood or body fluids of an infected person or animal

• Avoid any contacts with wild animals

If you visited an area where EVD cases were recently reported seek medical attention if you feel sick (fever, headache, achiness, sore throat, diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach pain, rash, or red eyes).
