Rome Fiumicino Airport is the best in Europe for the seventh time since 2018, in the category of airports serving over 40 million passengers. The award was announced yesterday evening in Athens by the international trade association ACI (Airport Council International) Europe during its 35th General Assembly, an annual event where the 'Best Airport Award' is presented to the airports that have set themselves apart for their excellence in terms of staff, digital transformation, technological innovation and sustainability of airport infrastructure. The evaluations were carried out by an independent jury composed of 8 institutional representatives from the European aviation sector, including the European Commission, EUROCONTROL, ITF, ECAC, SESAR JU, and others.
