The 2nd Annual Congress of the Pact for the Decarbonisation of Air Transport is currently underway in Rome. The observatory, promoted by Aeroporti di Roma with the support of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Safety and ENAC, aims at stimulating the dialogue on the green transition and climate neutrality of the industry by 2050, bringing together industrial players, institutional stakeholders, trade associations and the third sector. The congress was postponed by a few weeks, due to its original date coinciding with the state funeral of President Emeritus Giorgio Napolitano.

Enel was awarded the public tender to build, with the collaboration of Circet Italia S.p.A., the largest European self-consumption photovoltaic plant in an airport. The plant will make a considerable contribution to the energy efficiency process launched by ADR for the Fiumicino international hub and to the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere equivalent to the planting of around 100 thousand trees a year.

Connections from Fiumicino airport with RTL 102.5 group radio speakers and the young Aeroporti di Roma communication staff. Next stop, a radio workshop with students from three leading universities that run university radio stations: La Sapienza University of Rome, Luiss Guido Carli University and the University of Teramo, who will compete as radio presenters in the studios located in the new Terminal 1 square.

In fact, thanks to a technology that performs a real 'CT scan', passengers will be able to carry liquids even larger than 100ml in their hand luggage, as well as computers, tablets and mobile phones without having to take them out and separate them from their suitcase. Fiumicino and Ciampino airports are the first in the European Union and second in the World to have received the prestigious 'Public Health & Safety Readiness Accreditation' certification from Airports Council International (ACI), the independent association that surveys passenger satisfaction at over 350 airports worldwide, for proactive management of public health and safety. The certification, the result of a careful investigation, was also achieved thanks to compliance with the measures set out in the ACI Aviation Business Restart and Recovery guidelines and the recommendations of the ICAO Council Aviation Recovery Task Force.
