Progetto EXOPAN
EXOPAN – Extended Airport Operations Plan and integration with the Network (Family 2.2.2 - Extended AOP) It is a European project under the SESAR Deployment Manager program, involving several airports and air navigation service providers in Europe. ADR joined the EXOPAN project through a CEF call issued in 2023.
The objective is to extend and integrate the Airport Operations Plan (AOP) with the European ATM network, creating a continuous flow of shared data between airports, ANSPs, and the Network Manager (Eurocontrol). In this way, airport operations can be managed more efficiently, resiliently, and safely, both airside and landside.
The project, which will be concluded in 2027, is co-financed by the EU and provides:
· Implementation of new operational elements and KPIs, with an enhanced AOP interface for pre-tactical and tactical phases;
· Development of airport performance services (Steer, Monitoring, Manage, Post-OPS) to collect data, analyse it through predictive models, optimise resource allocation, and produce post-operational reports;
· A data quality service, ensuring compliance and exchange with stakeholders;
· Updating of the Safety regulatory framework and submission to the competent authority;
· Personnel training on the new functionalities introduced by the Extended AOP.
Through these activities, concrete benefits are achieved:
· Greater situational awareness thanks to infrastructure analysis and optimised resources management;
· Real-time monitoring of passengers, baggage, and aircraft with dedicated KPIs;
· TOBT forecasting in a TAM (Total Airport Management) approach, based on AI algorithms and new datasets;
· Support in critical conditions (e.g., adverse weather) and reduction of operational risks.
The economic part of the project includes a total amount of €15M, partially co-financed at a rate of 50% of the total investments that will lead ADR to the end of 2027.
