Dedicated Assistance up to Your Airport Exit - ADR Assistance
Arrival
Our support continues to your exit point
Getting off the aircraft
One of our staff members will come on board to help you get off the plane, so please wait for their arrival in your assigned seat. If you move from your seat, we may have difficulty locating you.
As a rule, passengers who have requested assistance are the last to exit the plane. If you have difficulty or are unable to move in the aisle, we may use a special aisle chair. This is designed to move easily within the plane and will be used to accompany you to the plane exit. Once you are on the ground, we will seat you in a standard wheelchair, or directly in your personal wheelchair if you prefer; if you opt for your personal wheelchair, it is crucial that you inform the airline when requesting assistance so that your chair is ready at the plane door after landing.
The way you leave the plane will depend on its location: If the plane is connected to the terminal via a finger, you will enter the airport directly; If, on the other hand, the plane is parked on the apron, you can (if possible) descend using the stairs, again with the help of our operator. If you are unable to descend the stairs, we will use a mobile lift (also known as an ambulift) to bring you safely to the ground; In this case, you will then be accompanied to the terminal by a minibus equipped for wheelchairs.
Depending on your origin and destination, you may have to go through security and/or passport checks.Useful information
You will be accompanied to the luggage reclaim area by one of our staff members.
To prevent your luggage from being confused with others of a similar size, shape or colour, we advise you to make it easily recognisable using labels, stickers, coloured straps, etc. These details will be useful for quickly identifying your baggage upon arrival or for facilitating its retrieval in the event of loss.
When packing your luggage, please note that, as required by law, we can only accompany you to your requested point with one piece of hand luggage that complies with the airline’s size restrictions and weighs no more than 12 kg.
If you land at Fiumicino and have excess or overweight luggage, you can book a porter service for a fee. This service will handle your bags from your point of contact to the check-in desk, where they will be loaded onto the plane. Click here to access the dedicated page.
Luggage preparation: Please follow your airline’s regulations regarding the size, weight and contents of both your hand and hold luggage.
Our staff will accompany you to the point where you can continue your journey independently. This could be a meeting point near the arrival or departure area, the car park, the train station or the taxi or bus station.
Accompanying persons
During transfer to and from the plane, we may use vehicles with limited seating. For this reason, your accompanying person may be required to board independently.
Travelling with minors
If minors are present, it is essential to report this so that the necessary equipment can be provided to ensure safe transport on our vehicles. Please note that our staff members cannot directly supervise minors. Responsibility for their care and supervision therefore remains with their guardian throughout the assistance process.
