ADR: FIUMICINO HOSTS NEW “LÌBRATI” EVENT, A BOOK AMONG PASSENGERS
Antonio Polito presented travellers travelling through Boarding Area B with his latest work: “Prove tecniche di resurrezione. Come riprendersi la propria vita” (Tests of resurrection. How to take back your life)

Today marks the third gathering of the Lìbrati season, a cultural initiative sponsored by Aeroporti di Roma in collaboration with the Mecenate 90 cultural association, chaired by sociologist Giuseppe De Rita, and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities' Centro per il libro e la lettura (Centre for books and reading). The season will continue until December with new, wonderful events.

Antonio Polito, deputy director of Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, presented his latest book today. The author started from a personal journey before arriving at a proposal he extended to all: the idea of starting down a path of “loss” with the aim of recovering ourselves. “The happiness curve is U-shaped, and when you feel like you've hit rock bottom is when you really can rise again,” says Polito in his book.

The event, organised in a dedicated corner of Terminal 1, was led by Paolo Di Paolo, a 35-year-old Roman author who, playing on the contrasting aspects of different stages of life, entertained and excited the passengers forming a crowd around the two writers.

Lìbrati continues to score highly with travellers in Fiumicino and forms part of the initiatives implemented by ADR that are aimed at obtaining an ever higher quality of services and proposals offered to those passing through the Roman hub. The hashtag of the initiative is #libratiFCO.

Aeroporti di Roma, an Atlantia Group company, manages and develops the Fiumicino and Ciampino airports in Rome and performs other activities related and complementary to airport management. Fiumicino operates through three passenger terminals. It is dedicated to business and leisure clients on national, international and intercontinental routes. Ciampino is mainly used by low-cost airlines, by express couriers and for General Aviation operations. In 2017, the ADR airport system registered 46.9 million passengers, with over 230 destinations across the world accessible from Rome thanks to around 100 airlines operating in the two airports. According to Skytrax official certification, in 2017 Fiumicino was the world’s number one airport for improvements and developments to its services. This award adds to the award granted to the airport by the Airports Council International as the most appreciated airport in Europe by passengers, and to the “Best Airport Award” 2018 given to the Rome airport during the annual assembly of Airports Council International.
