The new programme of concerts and jazz shows created by Aeroporti di Roma launches tomorrow - in partnership with Fondazione Musica per Roma – to entertain passengers, especially families with children, arriving to or departing from Leonardo da Vinci.
The new schedule of events is aimed at younger travellers, who will be directly involved, along with their parents, in musical performances by maestro Massimo Nunzi’s Brass Band, an authentic concert band whose musicians will itinerantly perform in the busiest areas of the Fiumicino Terminals. Children will be invited to sing, play or simply become acquainted with a musical instrument.
Among the songs selected to entertain passengers, are also adaptations of some of the most famous tunes in the popular tradition of Jazz, such as Mo Better Blues by Brandford Marsalis, Saint Thomas by Sonny Rollins, The Saints, Watermelon Man by Herbie Hancock, reinterpreted ad hoc to be performed in a specific space, such as an airport, where musicians can perform and also be in close contact with passengers.
Offering cultural entertainment to passengers is one of the distinctive features of Fiumicino airport, which has become one of its primary objectives. Leonardo da Vinci airport holds the official ranking of ACI Europe - Airports Council International, the independent international association that measures, through passenger interviews, perceived quality in over 300 airports worldwide – of first place among all EU hubs thanks to the high quality of services provided at the airport.
