The data connection of the Fastweb line allowing the operation of the system for the automatic admission of passengers provided by SITA to the airlines operating in Terminal 3 is now back in operation. Check-in and boarding operations, managed by the airlines, are gradually normalising. The functioning of the Terminal, even with considerable delays, never actually stopped.
The morning's delays were caused by a Fastweb data connection interruption, affecting also some areas of Roma Magliana and of the Municipality of Fiumicino. Alitalia's systems and those of the other Skyteam companies, equipped with their own connectivity at check-in, always operated as normal.
Together with ENAC, the Aeroporti di Roma company mobilised its efforts from the very early hours of the morning to put in place all procedures to assist passengers and support airlines in the boarding operations. There were more than 150 members of staff within the task force put in place by ADR to assist and direct passengers in the check-in operations. The staff of the managing company will continue to provide service and assistance until the full reinstatement of the operations.
