Fiumicino, 07 February 2017 – With regard to what declared by Ryanair senior management, ADR would like to point out that in 2017 airport management tariffs have remained largely the same in Fiumicino and have decreased in Ciampino. The competitiveness of the two airports is also confirmed by the constant traffic growth results: over the last 3 years, the average yearly increase in passengers was equal to +4.7%.
2016 saw an absolute record in airport traffic, amounting to 47.1 million passengers. The first 2017 data after the Jubilee also confirm the growth trend in the number of passengers in Rome's two airports. Indeed, December 2016 and January 2017 registered a +5.8% growth for the two airports compared to the same period in 2015-2016.
Aeroporti di Roma, Company of the Atlantia Group, manages and develops the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino and undertakes other activities relating and complementary to airport management. Fiumicino operates through four passenger terminals. It is dedicated to business and leisure clients on national, international and intercontinental routes; Ciampino is mainly used by low-cost airlines, by express-couriers and for operations of the General Aviation. In 2016, the ADR airport system registered more than 47 million passengers, with more than 230 destinations across the world reachable from Rome, thanks to around 100 airlines operating in the two airports.
