ANTI-COVID test obligation also extended to passengers arriving from Paris and certain regions in France
Fiumicino, 22 September 2020 – With reference to order dated 21 September 2020 of the Ministry of Health, Roberto Speranza, in relation to the containment of Covid-19, Aeroporti di Roma reports that, as of 22 September, all passengers arriving from France (limited to the regions of Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes Hauts-de-France, Île-de-France, New Aquitaine, Occitania, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) , will be obliged to undergo a molecular or antigenic test exactly as has already been carried out for over a month for those arriving from Croatia, Greece, Malta and Spain. For example, passengers arriving at Rome Fiumicino with flights from Paris CDG, Paris Orly, Marseille and Nice and passengers arriving at Rome Ciampino with flights from Paris Beauvais, Bordeaux and Lourdes fall under this obligation.
Passengers who do not have proof of a suitable test performed within 72 hours prior to entry into Italy and with a negative result, can undergo the test at the local hospital of reference within 48 hours of entering Italy or carrying out the test in the areas set out by ADR at Fiumicino and Ciampino airports. Specifically, at “Leonardo da Vinci” airport, at Terminal 3 arrivals, after exiting the baggage reclaim hall in an area measuring approximately 1,000 square metres, reserved boxes have been set up where USMAF/ASL doctors carry out the rapid tests. Alternatively, as of 1 September, the new Lazio Region drive-in centre at Fiumicino airport is active for carrying out the rapid Covid-19 antigenic swabs, manned by medical and paramedical staff from the Italian Red Cross.
Also, at “G.B. Pastine” di Ciampino airport, at the arrivals Terminal, there are reserved boxes where USMAF/ASL doctors carry out Covid-19 molecular or antigenic tests for passengers arriving from Croatia, Greece, Malta and Spain and from the following regions in France: Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes Hauts-de-France, Île-de-France, New Aquitaine, Occitania, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
Lastly, the order of the Ministry of Health sets out that passengers arriving from Bulgaria are not obliged to observe the quarantine period but are obliged to present a self-certification upon entry, whilst the arrival of passengers who have stayed in Serbia in the last 14 days is admitted as of today. However, for these passengers, the ban on non-essential travel and the observance of the quarantine period upon entry into Italy remains.
