FIUMICINO AND CIAMPINO CAR PARKS AWARDED THE “OK CODACONS”
The certification honours the quality of service provided by the Rome airport management company and once again confirms their customer service

Today, Aeroporti di Roma and Codacons shared the results of their quality assurance monitoring of the car parks managed by ADR Mobility, an ADR group company, regarding customer satisfaction, thanks to which the service was presented with the “Ok Codacons” award. 12,000 parking spaces split between the Multi-storey and Long Stay car parks - the latter of which is connected to the terminals via convenient shuttles - as well as the car parks in front of the terminal that offer different rates, all of which can even be booked online; a 24h customer service that runs 365 days a year; access and payment with Telepass; a partnership with Alitalia’s MilleMiglia program; luggage transport; Fast Track vouchers for security, as well as discounts in the airport’s bars and restaurants; luggage trolleys right in the car park, and many other products tailored to companies and employees, such as 4Corporate, a portal designed to offer facilities to those travelling on business. In addition, the Rome airport’s car parks are “digital”, allowing entry and exit by simply tapping a credit card, and eco-friendly, thanks to the Long Stay car parking spaces that are equipped with photovoltaic panels.

Codacons, which has always played an active role in monitoring services provided in the air, motorway and rail transport sectors, conducted a careful assessment through on-site checks carried out by its own inspectors, interviews with passengers and a precise analysis of individual customer statements. In doing so, it found the level of service provided to the Capital’s airport users to be of high quality, which lead to the granting of the “Ok Codacons” seal of approval.

Today, both Aeroporti di Roma and Codacons have made a mutual commitment to maintain a high-quality standard and to make improvements based on feedback from user reports, with a view to coming together and prioritising service in line with both of their objectives, placing the customer at the centre of its policies.

“We are truly proud to receive the Ok Codacons certification today,” declared Ugo de Carolis, Chief Executive Officer of Aeroporti di Roma. “This important recognition is added to the awards granted to the management company by Airports Council International World, which, for the second year in a row, presented Leonardo da Vinci with the “Airport Service Quality” award as the most appreciated airport in Europe amongst hubs with more than 40 million passengers, and to the 4 stars awarded by Skytrax, the main international society for the rating and evaluation of the airport sector. This latest proof, received today from one of Italy’s principal associations in the industry, encourages us to continue down this road to excellence that we initiated almost five years ago with ‘cura Atlantia’, thanks to which Fiumicino has been able to climb the rankings in all areas of infrastructure and service”.

“Thanks to this initiative, users have become the auditors of the services they use, taking an active role in the process of improving quality and performance,” confirms Codacons President, Carlo Rienzi. “Consumers, by making a concrete contribution to overcoming critical issues and problems through interviews and statements about their satisfaction levels, obtain a service that is optimised in their favour. And it doesn't stop there. Now, those registered with the association may also benefit from a 30% discount on the current tariffs at the car parks managed by ADR in the Rome airports of Ciampino and Fiumicino, in addition to other promotions reserved for Codacons members (discounts for pharmacies, Auditorium shows, entry to the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna, etc.). It is a collaborative path between operators and users that must be continued, and we hope that soon other companies will follow ADR’s virtuous example.”

“The Leonardo da Vinci airport has been confirmed as a high-quality airport,” added the mayor of Fiumicino, Esterino Montino. “It is a source of pride, as well as a great resource for our territory, both in terms of economy and tourism. The Codacons recognition, with which our comune is in collaboration, is further proof of this. There is a strong collaboration between the Comune and ADR,” concluded Montino, “for an increasingly fruitful coexistence and integration between what the airport and the comune can offer. An airport with efficient and high-quality car parks is also an assurance for the city.”

Aeroporti di Roma, an Atlantia Group Company, manages and develops the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino and carries out other related and supplementary airport management activities. Fiumicino has two passenger terminals and is dedicated to business and leisure customers on domestic, international and intercontinental routes; Ciampino is mainly used by low-cost airlines, express couriers and General Aviation activities. In 2018, ADR recorded, as an airport system, 48.8 million passengers with over 230 destinations worldwide that can be reached from Romethanks to approximately 100 airlines operating at the two airports. In 2019, Airports Council International Europe awarded Leonardo da Vinci the “Best Airport 2018” award. For the second consecutive year, Fiumicino confirmed its first-place position in the ranking of the top 20 European airports, with over 25 million passengers, for service quality, innovation & technology and infrastructure efficiency. The award adds to the acknowledgement by Airports Council International World which, also in 2019, for the second consecutive year, awarded Leonardo da Vinci the “Airport Service Quality” award, as the most appreciated airport in Europe out of the European hubs, with over 40 million passengers. ADR's management capacity is also confirmed by the awards received during 2019 from Skytrax, the leading international rating and assessment company in the airport industry, which confirmed the 4 Skytrax stars achieved by Fiumicino in 2017.
