ADR: PARTNER AIRPORT OF TTG - AN EXHIBITION WITH LOTS OF NEWS
From 9 to 11 October, Aeroporti di Roma shall attend the Rimini TTG Travel Experience exhibition. Featuring: 230 accessible destinations across the globe, new links with China and the signing of the agreement with C-trip. Plus Easyparking offers, the Romeairports platform, and a surprise for visitors to the stand.

Fiumicino, 3 October 2019 - This year, too, Aeroporti di Roma attends the TTG, the most important exhibition dedicated to tourism operators in Italy, although this is its first time as an Official Airport Partner.

“The TTG is a fundamental event for meeting with all the world travel partners,” says Fausto Palombelli, Chief Commercial Officer of ADR, “and it provides an opportunity to discover the successes and the new challenges for Leonardo da Vinci, the most important airport in Italy, which was named, for the second year in a row, as the “Best Airport in Europe” in 2018 by the ACI (Airports Council International Europe).

The three-day event is an opportunity to inform the world of travel about the 230 destinations that can be reached from the capital, thanks to over 100 airlines operating in the two airports of Fiumicino and Ciampino, which, in 2018, registered 49 million passengers, and the many routes operated by new airlines both to and from China.

The relationship between Rome and China is becoming ever stronger, so much so that there are now twelve cities in Greater China directly linked, thanks to seven airlines, to Fiumicino, Europe’s leading airport for the number of destinations it serves and of carriers operating within it.

“Sure enough, this year we are registering a real boom in passengers both to and from Greater China,” Palombelli announces, “so much so that in the recent summer months, passenger numbers have increased by 30% in comparison to the same months in the previous year, and we intend to exceed the threshold of 900,000 passengers before the end of 2019”.

In order to confirm and consolidate the link to and focus on China, ADR, together with the Rome and Lazio Convention Bureau, has organised a round-table conference within the TTG, dedicated to the discussion of the Chinese tourism market, and a gala evening for around 50 buyers from the country of the dragon. The evening event, focused on presenting the strongly personalised offer that the Roman system is able to propose to the Chinese government, is a chance to establish new contacts and to exchange ideas and opinions.

The TTG is the perfect setting in which to sign the prestigious agreement between Aeroporti di Roma and Ctrip, the most important Chinese online tour operator. Signing this agreement gives substance to the first indication of interest, expressed during the Chinese President’s visit last March.

The exhibition is an opportunity to inform the world of travel of the numerous Easy Parking proposals that offer convenience and security in the Aeroporti di Roma’s official car parks. Easy Parking simplifies departures for those flying from Rome, thanks to its close proximity to the terminal and its parking solutions designed for every need that no other car park can offer.

Furthermore, ADR presents the TTG with the new e-commerce platform, Romeairports.com, which can be used to purchase some services online such as parking reservations, fast track passes, and access to the VIP lounge rooms that are present in the airport.

But the news doesn’t end here. Aeroporti di Roma has also thought about the comfort of the visitors to its exhibition stand with a flyer: “ADR fast track at the Piadinerie”. The free voucher gives preferential access, with a discount of 10%, for the purchase of the famous piadine flatbreads of Romagna in the exhibition itself.

Aeroporti di Roma, an Atlantia Group company, manages and develops the Fiumicino and Ciampino airports in Rome and performs other activities related and complimentary to airport management. Fiumicino operates through two passenger terminals. It is dedicated to business and leisure clients on national, international and intercontinental routers. Ciampino is mainly used by low-cost airlines, by express couriers and for General Aviation operations. In 2018 the ADR airport system registered 48.8 million passengers, with over 230 destinations across the world that can be accessed from Rome thanks to around 100 airlines operating in the two airports. In 2019 the Airports Council International Europe awarded Leonardo da Vinci with the “Best Airport 2018”. For the second year in a row, Fiumicino has been confirmed as the top-ranked of 20 European airports with over 25 million passengers for its quality of service, technological innovation, and the efficiency of its infrastructure. This adds to the “Airport Service Quality” award granted to the Leonardo da Vinci airport in 2019, for the second year in a row, by the Airports Council International World as the most appreciated airport in Europe amongst hubs with more than 40 million passengers. ADR’s management skills have also been confirmed during 2019 by the awards received from Skytrax, the main international society for the rating and evaluation of the airport sector, which verified that Fiumicino achieved 4 Skytrax stars in 2017.
