ADR: “LÌBRATI”, A BOOK AMONG PASSENGERS, RETURNS TO FIUMICINO
Second event of the 2019 edition with Dacia Maraini

Corpo felice” (Happy body) is the title of the latest book by Dacia Maraini, which was presented today at Fiumicino as part of Lìbrati. The cultural event, now in its second edition, transforms the capital city’s airport into a reading room. Passengers in Terminal 1 listened to the author's description of a mother who did not have time to be one, and a son who never grew up. An ongoing dialogue describes what it means to become women and men nowadays, and develops through the days that they were not able to experience together.

Introduced by Eugenio Muralli, a brilliant young Roman journalist, the author livened up the literary lounge opened in 2018 by Aeroporti di Roma in collaboration with the Mecenate 90 cultural association, chaired by Giuseppe De Rita, and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities' Centro per il libro e la lettura (Centre for books and reading).

Lìbrati will continue to the end of 2019 with a calender brimming with events, offering passengers more opportunities for entertainment and the chance to meet authors and encounter new literature just a few metres from their departure gate. It is also thanks to these initiatives that the Leonardo da Vinci airport has reaffirmed its position as a leader in Europe for quality of services.

The hashtag of the initiative is #libratiFCO.

Aeroporti di Roma, an Atlantia Group company, manages and develops the Fiumicino and Ciampino airports in Rome and performs other activities related and complementary to airport management. Fiumicino has two passenger terminals. It is dedicated to business and leisure clients on national, international and intercontinental routes. Ciampino is mainly used by low-cost airlines, by express couriers and for General Aviation operations. In 2018, the ADR airport system registered 48.8 million passengers, with over 230 destinations across the world accessible from Rome thanks to around 100 airlines operating in the two airports. According to Skytrax, in 2017 Fiumicino was the world’s number one airport for improvements and developments to its services. This award adds to the award granted to the airport by the Airports Council International World as the most appreciated airport in Europe amongst hubs with more than 40 million passengers, and to the “Best Airport Award” 2018 given to the Rome airport during the annual assembly of Airports Council International Europe.
