TTG EXPO: “THE ROME SYSTEM”
The virtuous “Rome System for China” at the centre of the convention held today at the TTG Expo on the future of the Chinese tourist market.

Aeroporti di Roma, Convention Bureau Roma e Lazio, Enit and Roma Capitale confirm at the TTG of Rimini the attention on China. At the most important trade fair dedicated to the tourist operators in Italy, the “Rome System for China” presents, during the convention organised on the future of the Chinese tourist market, the virtuous partnership model which is the result of a long-term strategy that has yielded significant results.

The participants in the “system” are proof of the privileged relationship with the Land of the Dragon: together with Aeroporti di Roma, Official Airport Partner of the three days, and Convention Bureau Roma e Lazio, Roma Capitale, Enit, also Ctrip, the largest on-line Chinese tour operator. It is with the colossus of Chinese tourism, Ctrip, that Aeroporti di Roma, first airport in the world to obtain the prestigious  Welcome Chinese certification, signed during the convention an important agreement to make Chinese passengers discover the ease of traveling in Italy through the gateway of Leonardo da Vinci.

Rome is the first stop for China - states Carlo Cafarotti, Economic, Tourism and Labour Councillor of Roma Capitale - the Italian business card on the Silk Road. Therefore, Capitale creates a “system” at all levels. We have fine-tuned - continues the Councillor - a structured welcome dimension specifically for those coming to visit us from the Land of the Dragon: instructions in their language, promotion on the dedicated WeChat channel, specific training courses for our industry professionals and soon QR Code signs to the major sites of interest. Not only tourism but also economic development, by virtue of the increasing synergies between companies and start-ups”.

“We have joint programs with Enit and with the entire “Rome System for China” to make our business increasingly important - states Fausto Palombelli, Chief Commercial Officer of ADR - We hope the bilateral aviation agreement will be renewed soon, for the 2020 Year of Italy-China Tourism, to increase the number of flights to China. In fact, this year, Leonardo da Vinci - announces Palombelli - will pass the 900,000-passenger threshold to and from Greater China with twelve cities connected directly to  Fiumicino Airport, thanks to seven airlines, but many other Chinese companies would like to open routes to Rome.
The airport of the Capital, in fact, is the ideal gateway of the Country, thanks to the direct connections to the major Italian cities and the many tourist opportunities in the South.
I see in the Chinese market -
concludes Palombelli - the evolution of the Japanese market characterised at the beginning by groups which then evolved into individual trips on the discovery of destinations in which to experience the Italian lifestyle”.

With AdR and all the public and private institutions we have launched a great system operation and we will continue in this direction during the 2020 China-Italy year, which we greet from Rimini with this evening dedicated to selected buyers of the Chinese market” - states the Vice President of the Convention Bureau Roma and Lazio, Stefano Fiori - “Having started a cohesive dialogue in recent years with this new market puts us in a privileged position, and now that AdR has further multiplied the routes towards China, we can aspire to the diversification of the offer - continues Fiori - because the current segmentation of the Chinese market puts a new tourist before us, who appreciates Made in Italy and is looking at meeting business, in addition to luxury”. 2020 will be the China-Italy year dedicated to culture and tourism and Aeroporti di Roma and Convention Bureau Roma e Lazio will once again be together in an international mission aimed at strengthening the agreements made and start new ones”.

In fact, this year, in the wake of the intensification of diplomatic relations between the two Countries after the official visit of the Chinese Premier Xi Jinping in Italy there followed a new choral mission to Shanghai during the ITB China event, the most important fair of the Chinese tourism market.  On that occasion, the event “Rome, the Italian Gateway to your business” was created, in which the Embassy, Ministry of Tourism, Enit, Roma Capitale together with ADR and Convention Bureau Roma e Lazio participated under the aegis of Welcome Chinese. The new connections were explained from Shengzhen, Chengdu and Hangzhou, where the Convention Bureau Roma e Lazio was at the centre of the network activated for the “Rome MICE Destination”.
