Fiumicino, 27th July 2021 – As of this morning, the new vaccination point dedicated to departing, arriving and transit passengers and airport operators set up by ADR in collaboration with Regione Lazio and the Spallanzani Institute, is in operation inside Terminal 3 at Fiumicino Airport.

The launch was attended, among others, by the President of  Regione Lazio  Nicola Zingaretti;   Regione Lazio’s Health Councillor  Alessio D’Amato; the Medical Director of the Spallanzani Institute Francesco Vaia; the Chairman of ADR Claudio De Vincenti; CEO of ADR Marco Troncone; and the Chief Aviation Officer Ivan Bassato.

“Leonardo da Vinci Airport” has therefore become the first airport in Italy to have a fast-track vaccination point inside the terminal, in addition to the health hub that has been in operation since 11^th February 2021 at the airport’s Long Stay car park, where, up to now, 250 thousand people have been vaccinated, to the Covid-19 testing centre at Terminal 3 arrivals, which has been operational for almost a year, and the testing facilities at the boarding gates reserved for passengers travelling on Covid-tested flights.  

The new facility, measuring around 150 sqm, has been set up in the departures lounge at Terminal 3 in the upper area, next to the pharmacy. It will operate 7 days a week from 8.00am to 8.00pm and will stock both Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines, and Johnson&Johnson single dose viral vector vaccines.

The offer of vaccines to protect against Covid-19 in the terminal is intended for passengers departing from and arriving at Fiumicino Airport, who are travelling and want to take their first or second booster dose of the vaccine directly at the airport, or for those who wish to be vaccinated with the Johnson&Johnson single dose vaccine. Airport workers will also have access to the vaccination centre in the terminal, just as they already have access to the vaccination hub at the Long Stay car park.

Aeroporti di Roma would like to kindly remind you that, according to government regulations, only passengers and airport operators are allowed to enter the terminal - after having checked their body temperature with thermoscanners - and that everyone is obliged to wear a protective mask in the terminals and maintain a distance of at least one metre between each other. The new measures are in addition to all the other initiatives adopted by ADR to make the airport safe and comfortable: from the sanitisation of the entire airport perimeter to the remodelling of spaces within the airport to observe social distancing, which is indicated by dedicated signs.
