Fiumicino, 4 February 2023 - As of next March, 66 workers currently employed at Fiumicino and Ciampino airports in passenger assistance activities will be hired on a permanent basis, while another 191 employees will have their fixed-term contracts converted to permanent contracts.
This agreement, which leaves room for further action in favour of operational staff with the consolidation of passenger traffic expected for the next summer season, confirms the trend of increasing Aeroporti di Roma's workforce that began last November, with the hiring of 90 permanent employees in the Group's company, ADR Security. The recruitment plan defined for 2023 involves only those resources who have worked in the Group's operating sectors under fixed-term contracts in the past years.
“The agreement signed today - said Marco Troncone, CEO of Aeroporti di Roma - is the result of the fruitful cooperation with the trade unions and represents an important investment in our human capital with the stabilisation of 257 workers. Once again, we confirm our commitment to enhancing our people, protagonists of the sustainable development of our airport under the sign of excellence. A commitment, maintained even during the dramatic phases of the pandemic in a logic of safeguarding employment levels, which has characterised the company's action under the banner of internalisation, professional growth and the fight against precarious employment, and which has created over 1,400 new permanent jobs in the last 10 years. With our development plan, we are determined to continue and accelerate on this path”.
Aeroporti di Roma, an Atlantia Group company, manages and develops the Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino airports and carries out other activities related and complementary to airport management. Fiumicino, first and only airport in Italy with a 5-star Skytrax rating for excellent standards in quality of service, has two passenger terminals and is dedicated to business and leisure customers on national, international and intercontinental routes; Ciampino is mainly used by low-cost airlines, express couriers and General Aviation activities. In 2019, ADR recorded, as an airport system, 49.4 million passengers with over 240 destinations worldwide that can be reached from Rome, thanks to the approximately 100 airlines operating in the two airports (In 2022, following the effects induced by Covid-19 on air transport, Fiumicino airport recorded just 29,4 million passengers, whilst Ciampino airport closed the year with 3,5 million passengers). Over the past five years, Aeroporti di Roma has received numerous awards, recognitions and quality certificates. As a result of these achievements, ACI World included ADR in the 'Director General's Roll of Excellence' in 2022, a roll of excellence to which only 64 out of more than 18,000 airports worldwide belong for the very high levels of quality offered to their passengers. In 2017, SKYTRAX awarded Aeroporti di Roma the 4 STARS AIRPORT RATING, a certificate of excellence for its commitment to providing passengers with the best possible experience. Skytrax also awarded ADR WORLD'S MOST IMPROVED AIRPORT in 2018 based on its assessment of services experienced by passengers at various airports around the world.
