Thermal scanners activated
Following the testing phase of the last two days and in observance of instructions from the Ministry of Health, at Leonardo da Vinci airport, latest generation thermal scanners have been installed – and are now operational – to monitor the body temperature of passengers arriving in the airport.

The three reception areas for measurement have been set up in Terminals 1 and 3 (with two stations). In all, there are 11 dedicated lanes, all with thermal scanners: 3 in Terminal 1, 3 in Terminal 3 for Schengen flights and 5 at Terminal 3 international arrivals. A health worker is at each lane to support arriving travellers, using a tablet, in taking their body temperature, measured by the thermal scanners in just two seconds, without any impact on terminal operations procedures. The scanners are in addition to those already available in the health channel set up in 2016 by the airport management company.

Aeroporti di Roma wishes to thank the Special Commissioner, Angelo Borrelli, Civil Protection, the Ministry of Health, Enac and the State Police for their ongoing collaboration in swiftly carrying out the management plan indicated by the relevant institutional agents.
