ADR: launch of new digital ‘Shop&Fly’ service
A catalogue of 9,000 products to order online and pick up at the airport
Fiumicino, 26 March 2024 – Another step in the digitalisation of Aeroporti di Roma. The new ‘Shop&Fly’ service gives passengers at Fiumicino ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ Airport the opportunity to reserve the products available on the Aeroporti di Roma’s website and pay for and pick them up directly at the airport. A few days before the beginning of the Summer 2024, ADR is further expanding the wide range of shopping opportunities for travellers departing from and arriving at Rome Fiumicino Airport, named for the seventh consecutive year by ACI World as the best European hub for the quality of services offered to passengers.
With “Shop&Fly”, using their personal digital devices and surfing on the website shop.adr.it, travellers can now choose from a wide range of items, including a large selection of perfumes, make-up and skincare products, food and wine, and toys, totalling some 9,000 items from over 600 top brands on sale in the Lagardère Travel Retail’s Aelia Duty Free stores. A new opportunity, even more attractive thanks to a special 10% discount reserved for online orders compared to purchases made directly in store.
Alberto Niero, CEO Lagardère Travel Retail Italia, said: "Today, we are really glad to announce the launch of the new 'Shop&Fly' service, realised in partnership with ADR and its partner Brands. This very ambitious project is aimed at responding to the changing behaviour of consumers who are more and more digitally oriented, by offering them an additional opportunity to purchase our products”.
With Shop&Fly service, passengers departing from ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ Airport for all destinations or arriving from an Italian or Schengen destination, can shop online, choosing from duty free products from the online catalogue, which can then be paid for and collected directly at the airport at the special cash desks in the Aelia Duty Free stores.
Thanks to the partnership between ADR and ITA Airways, always at the forefront in providing new opportunities and innovative services to its customers, all ITA Airways passengers, even those coming from a non-Schengen destination, will also be able to collect the products ordered on Shop&Fly at the Pick Up points of Aelia Duty Free stores.
The services of Aeroporti di Roma and Fiumicino ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ Airport — the first and only airport in Italy with a Skytrax rating of 5 stars for excellence in the quality of services offered — go ‘Phygital’ with the enhancement of the website ADR.it as an e-shopping platform that also includes ‘Personal Shopper’ (to reserve in advance luxury products that you then pay at the boutique), ‘Book a Table’ (to reserve a table in the airport's restaurants) and ‘Take away and Fly’ (to purchase the meal online and collect it at the airport).
"We constantly strive to fully meet our customers' needs, acknowledging their crucial role in our growth and the increasingly digital approach towards consumption” our Chief Commercial Officer Marilena Blasi comments. “It is essential to ensure a #seamless digital experience, especially during the pre-flight phase, during which passengers interact with services such as shopping and dining. It is with this mindset that we launched our ‘Shop&Fly’ e-commerce platform, which allows passengers to reserve duty-free products online and pay for them in store, the first step into a journey of continuous improvement in terms of offer, brands and services, always aligned with our customers' needs.”
