Fiumicino, prompt response to minor fire: operations remain fully functional
At approximately 2:50 PM today, firefighters, supported by ADR staff, promptly intervened to extinguish a small fire on the roof of an area adjacent to Pier D at Terminal 1 of Fiumicino Airport. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The incident resulted in a visible amount of smoke, but the area was quickly secured, and some passengers were temporarily moved away as a precaution and informed of the situation.
The fire was completely extinguished by 3:05 PM, with no smoke remaining. All airport and passenger safety systems were immediately activated, effectively managing the situation and ensuring there was no impact on airport operations, which continued as normal.
