Fiumicino and Ciampino obtain Level 2 Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation
Fiumicino and Ciampino airports even more accessible and inclusive. Aeroporti di Roma, part of the Mundys group, moves up the ladder to Level 2 in international Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation (AEA), which measures the level of accessibility of infrastructures for people with reduced mobility or disabilities

. It was awarded to Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino — the first and only airports in Italy — by ACI World, an independent international association that aggregates the world's main airports, ahead of the awards ceremony that will take place during the Airport Service Quality Forum in Guanghzou, next September. To date, in Europe, this accreditation has only been achieved by the airports of Istanbul, London Gatwick and Vienna.

'Leonardo da Vinci’ Airport and 'G. B. Pastine' Airportare the first in the European Union to be awarded Level 2. The AEA — compliant with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities — was established in 2022 to support airports in measuring, evaluating and improving their infrastructure to promote a culture of accessibility, while removing all kinds of physical, sensory, cognitive or psychological barriers.

After obtaining Level 1 in August 2024, ADR has now taken a further leap forward to achieve the intermediate level of certification, which illustrates the company’s commitment to applying the principles of Universal Design from the very earliest stages of infrastructure creation, regularly involving associations representing people with disabilities and offering special services to improve the customer journey for passengers, as well as guaranteeing all necessary support through its subsidiary ADR Assistance
