Aviation Business Development

Welcome to the section of the website dedicated to airlines operating or interested in operating on the Capital's Airport System, the first in Italy for traffic flows. The System, managed by Rome Airports - ADR S.p.A., includes the airports “Leonardo da Vinci” at Fiumicino (FCO) and "Giovan Battista Pastine" at Ciampino (CIA).

Fiumicino Airport (FCO), the main Italian hub, is served by airlines from all over the world, which provide connections to all major international destinations. Its strategic location in the centre of the Mediterranean, together with the wide range of intercontinental flights available, confirms its role as a principal tranist pont for connecting flights for the entire central and southern European region.

The constant attention to the quality of services offered to passengers and airlines translates into continuous improvement and development of all airport operations. Investments in recent years have made Fiumicino the leading European airport in terms of passenger satisfaction. In 2020, Airports Council International Europe presented Leonardo da Vinci with the “Best Airport Award 2020”. For the third year running, Leonardo da Vinci confirmed its position as the number one European hub with over 40 million passengers. The award adds to the recognition of Airports Council International World which, in 2020, for the third year running presented Leonardo da Vinci with the "Airport Service Quality 2019" award as the most popular airport in Europe among hubs with more than 40 million passengers. ADR's management capacity is also confirmed by the awards received during 2019 from Skytrax, the leading international rating and assessment company for the airport sector, which confirmed the 4 Skytrax stars obtained by Fiumicino in 2017.
