We inform you that from May 22, 2012 the Genius of Leonardo exhibition at Terminal 1 will be closed

The exhibition will be again accessible to the public after its transfer at the Rome Terrace (Terminal 3)

Glider Although in reality this would not provide sufficient assistance in flight it did mark a progress in aerodynamic research. The wing is fixed and rigid in structure and the pilot forms part of the inner sector supported with straps. The pilot can then manipulate its body and movement to guide the glider with additional assistance from ropes and pulleys which are attached to the extreme part of the wing to help maneuver.


Aerial Screw The machine consists of a spiral of linen around a vertical shaft. There is no indication at all as to how the machine should rotate and rise in the air.
