Rome airport system


Aeroporti di Roma – ADR S.p.A. - was established in 1974 as exclusive concessionaire for the operation of the main Italian airport system consisting of both Fiumicino "Leonardo da Vinci" airport and Ciampino "G.B. Pastine" airport.

Rome airport system welcomed during the year 2012 approx. 42 million passengers with around 230 destinations worldwide served by more than 100 airlines from the two roman Airports.

ADR is constantly focused on air traffic development: all airlines interested in adding Rome to their network system will find in the two Rome airports the ideal environment where to successfully operate their flights.

FIUMICINO

 

Located southwest of Rome, 32 km away from the city centre, Rome Fiumicino "Leonardo da Vinci" is an HUB airport. An efficien road and railway network allows reaching the airport from Rome downtown in 25 minutes only. The airport mainly serves carriers operating scheduled flights to domestic, international and intercontinental destinations.

In recent years international flights have mostly supported the traffic growth at "Leonardo da Vinci", and during the year 2012 the airport attracted more than 37 millions passengers. During 2012  over 100 airlines chose to fly from this airport, thus serving around 200 destinations worldwide.

The huge number of Italian domestic and intercontinental connected destinations makes the HUB of Rome Fiumicino the best airport to ensure extensive feeding operations to long haul flights.


"Leonardo da Vinci" airport offers services and infrastructures in line with the international standards; thanks to investments made by ADR during the recent years. Fiumicino airport now offers:

CIAMPINO

 

Located 15 km southeast of downtown Rome, Rome Ciampino G.B. Pastine airport mainly serves low cost carries, express-courier services and General Aviation flights.

Over the past 10 years the low cost carrier market has rapidly grown and developed across the whole of Europe: in Italy, Ciampino airport has undoubtedly been able to cope with this growing traffic, favoring a strong increase of the incoming touristic flows in Rome and in Latium.

In the year 2012 Ciampino airport registered approximately 4.5 millions passengers.
