Announcing the implementation of new road system at Rome Giovan Battista Pastine Ciampino Airport
Following Leonardo da Vinci Airport’s example, Rome’s City Airport announces its own renovation and re-organisation of airport vehicular traffic flows. Effective immediately, Giovan Battista Pastine Airport offers users more rapid and convenient access and a reorganised and rationalised traffic flow leaving the airport.
The parking areas opposite the Arrivals and Departures terminals, providing free parking for the first twenty minutes, have been enlarged. Picking up an arriving passenger or giving someone a lift to the airport will no longer pose parking problems. The entire operation will be carried out calmly inside conveniently located authorised parking areas.
Lane separators have also been installed at strategic points along the airport roadways, to make public and private vehicle traffic flow more smoothly. This marks another step in Aeroporti di Roma’s continuing effort to improve passenger service.
At Leonardo da Vinci – Fiumicino Airport, the new traffic plan, implemented in June, has already recorded its first positive results: 72,000 automobiles used the two new free short stay parking areas in the month of July, and 69% of them paid no fee for their stay. These are very encouraging numbers: in a single month, more than 49,000 users were able to park at the airport for free.
