NEW SIGN SYSTEMOn 25 October 2009 Fiumicino airport experienced a mini revolution. During the night of 24 October a small "army" of technicians changed the Terminal, road and car park sign system as well as the signs in all areas open to the public at large. Conforming to the world major hubs, the Rome airport adopts the numerical identification system of the Terminals: 1, 2, 3, 5, so as to distinguish them from boarding areas, identified from letters B, C, D, G, H, to be completed by 2014 with the new areas A, E, F. The change of the existing sign system fulfils a twofold purpose: to streamline the current sign system and to conform it to major international airports for the denomination of Terminals. The new reference denominations of Terminals will be:
New denomination of boarding areas identified from letters B, C, D, G, H.
