Ciampino airport is on Via Appia Nuova, at only 15 km from Rome, near the Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA) and to the highways Rome-Naples and Rome-L’Aquila.

For people coming from Rome, it is possible to reach it by taking Via Appia Nuova to Castelli Romani; for people coming from Fiumicino airport, it is necessary to take the highway Fiumicino-Rome, input on the Grande Raccordo Anulare to Via Appia Nuova and follow the via Appia Nuova, direction Castelli Romani. Who comes from the highways, after the exit Roma Sud, should prosecute on the Grande Raccordo Anulare and take via Appia Nuova to Castelli Romani.

Rome Ciampino airport can be reached via different bus routes.

Daily connections between the airport and FS Roma Termini station are guaranteed by the bus services operated by ATRAL, COTRAL, SIT and TERRAVISION. The buses are parked in dedicated bus bays opposite International Departures.

Schiaffini Travel operates a bus service between Rome Ciampino airport and Rome Fiumicino airport. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes with no intermediate stops.

The nearest rail station to “Giovan Battista Pastine” airport is Ciampino Città, connected to the airport by the buses COTRAL/SCHIAFFINI every 30 minutes. The travelling time is about 5 minutes.

Tickets, sold in the bus and on the ground, cost 1 euro.

A light metro connects Ciampino railway station to Termini railway station with an average time of 15 minutes.

At Ciampino airport, in correspondence of the exit, it is available a taxi service to Rome. The service costs 30 euro, baggage included, for a maximum of four passengers, to all the destinations inside the Mura Aureliane which delimitate the central area of the city. The cost is the same also for the contrary way, from Rome to Ciampino.

For different destinations the price will be indicated by the taximeter on each taxi, to which the baggage fee shall be added.  The cars for the taxi service of the City of Rome are white and can be recognized by the sign "TAXI" on the top and by the identifying licence number on the doors, on the back and inside the car.

In front of the airport exit, furthermore, there is a rent service, countersigned by the letters NCC (rent with a driver), carried out by cars, usually blue or grey, to which are applied different fees that depend on the destination. This service can be required to the authorised structures inside the airport. The NCC service therefore is not alternative to the taxi service, which remains the only one accessible directly from the parking area.

ATTENTION: any other vehicle at the airport exit could be driven by people without a regular authorization of the taxi or of the rent service and the fee required could be superior or however different from the fee foreseen by Comune di Roma. We advice you to be suspicious of people, inside the airport, who propose transport services towards the city.
