Photovoltaic

The Long-stay Economy car park is equipped with a photovoltaic system, thanks to collaboration with ACEA. In the area served by the system (about 25,0000 square metres8,750 photovoltaic Suntech panels in high efficiency polycrystalline silicon, each with a peak power of 210 W, have been installed.

The photovoltaic system currently in operation produces approximately 2,210 MWh per year of clean electricity, with a consequent reduction of about 1.2000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions into the atmosphere per year. The system is equipped with devices that measure climate and environmental data with a led lighting system of the latest generation, in addition to the beacon towers already in existence.

The intervention is part of the programmed actions, in the national and European context, regarding a reduction in air pollution and development of plants powered by renewable resources  (Kyoto Protocol).
